Little House on the Prairie

i am sitting in the corner of the livingroom watching stevie rae, sonia, ronnie, and jalinna jump around the livingroom dancing and singing. they are so funny. I keep cracking up. these are some crazy talented and artistic kids. okay, honestly, poor sonia is fighting her jetlag really bad. she is 9 hours ahead and is trying so hard not to fall asleep. stevie rae won't let her. today was a busy busy day. talen was an amazing Mr. Edwards in his school play. the play, little house on the prairie, was so adorable. third graders are great because they aren't old enough to be embarrassed yet and just really gave it their all. my studio is almost done. they (jesse and christian) finished all but the texture. wahoo! oh yeah, last night stevie rae was honored at senior night with an academic cord for her grades, a special service cord for her service to the school, and a special award for being the girl at the school with the most points towards her script L for community service. paul and i are so proud of our roundhead. we spent the afternoon at holly's house swimming and the evening here at home just hanging out. i love just hanging out. tomorrow i am taking pictures of two friends, working in the yard, and going to watch our friend WIN valley teen idol. stevie rae will be performing at vti also. should be soooooo fun. i predict jordan will win. i'll let you know. goodnight. xoxo

a long time coming

today was a day full of anticipation and excitement. stevie rae's good friend from poland "sonia" came to stay with us for three weeks. we have been waiting for her to come for a very long time. sonia is here to visit, attend -senior- functions with stevie rae such as prom and senior awards night. it just so happens that tonight was awards night. stevie rae was recognized as the student at LHS with the highest number of community/school service points towards her script "L"... She was also recogonized for her academic achievements and was awarded a special "red cord" service award for her services to the school. it was a really fun night and paul and i are so proud.
my studio is near completion and i will take some pics of that tomorrow. tomorrow is talen's 3rd grade class play "little house on the prairie" and he is starring as -mr. edwards. i can't wait.
good night all!

day two

okay so don't laugh... i woke up this morning and couldn't wait to blog. okay so laugh, I'm laughing at myself. stevie rae helped me yesterday add some html so that i could have a comment box. yeah! i wanted to post today some pics of my studio being built. nothing much to look at yet but its coming along.
last weekend a new friend of mine asked me if stevie rae would like to model for her. she was going to need some models for a jewerly designer. when we got there stevie rae was not exactly what she was looking for. she had four other bohemian style models and my beautiful couture daughter. LOL!!! it was a wonderful learning experience for stevie rae and she will get some free jewerly out of it. after the shoot, i took her and talen to dinner and just before we went in to eat, i noticed the coolness of the parking lot and asked stevie rae to pose for a couple of minutes before we went in. so i will add a few of those pictures today.
lastly, i really am struggling with stevie rae leaving for college. i will miss her so much. anyone out there want to model for me and keep me busy??? have a great day my friends!!!

a year of firsts

this is my very first blog. the fact that i even have a blog is amazing considering how technically challeged i am. so many great things are happening right now and i am really excited about my future as a photographer. i have been taking classes at the local college and love it. i have made some really great friends that share the same interests as me. something amazing happened... one of my portraits of stevie rae made it into the art show at the college. i have to say that was really exciting. the picture was very high fashion and i will post it for you all to see.
so lets be honest, photography has been a passion for a long time but i never had the time to really learn the technical side. with stevie rae leaving me... (tears) to attend montana state university in august, i decided now is the time for me to really get in gear so that i don't mope too much when she is gone and i will have a way to make some money for travelling to and from montana. what i didn't expect is that i really really love photography. i hope that i can be great at it.
i had my first paying customer nichelle dismer. yeah! i took nichelle's senior portraits last week and i am really excited about how much i love them. i also designed stevie rae and nichelle's senior announcements. isn't it time we move past the traditional white with the foil cap announcements (LOL). i will post those for you to see too.
this week we are breaking ground (not literally) on my very own photography studio. i can not be more excited. it will take a couple of months before i will be up and running but i am really looking forward to having my own studio.
lastly, many of you (LOL - my two followers), would like to know where the name studio 22381 came from... well.... its personal... but i will tell you... when my first baby, stevie rae was born, they put a wrist/ankle bracelet on each of us and said that we belong together ... that number has had very special meaning to me ever since... that's it!!!
thanks for reading and i will try to be diligent and post about life and my photography experiences. LOVE TO ALL!
